The Human Evolution and Cognition research group was created in 2000. It is currently an Associate Unit to IFISC. Its research focuses on the philosophical, anthropological, psychological, psychopathological, paleontological and ethical aspects of human nature. The group's research focuses primarily on the distinguishing traits of human beings:

  ⊕  Aesthetic cognition

  ⊕  Moral behavior

  ⊕  Language

The group has also established a partnership with the "Clínica Rotger" hospital, and therefore, unites public and private funding for the study of brain processes in healthy people and medical patients.
