Moral emotions – Morality – Intersubjectivity – Second Person Standpoint
I am interested in the psychology and evolution of morality. Departing from an evolutionary framework, my PhD thesis examines where the normativity of morality comes from, and defends that moral emotions are a source of moral normativity due to their intersubjective structure. To account for this, I follow Darwall’s theory of the second person perspective. I try to provide a naturalized version of it by backing it up with empirical evidence from developmental and comparative psychology, as well as experimental and moral philosophy.
